Betty G. Birney
Betty G. Birney (born April 26, 1947) is an American author and former television writer best known for the According to Humphrey series of children's books. A native of Affton (St. Louis), Missouri, she graduated from Webster College (now Webster University) and has written dozens of picture books, middle-grade novels and more than 200 episodes of television (including work for Disney). Her Humphrey books have won multiple state children’s choice awards, Christopher and Bank Street recognitions, and have been published internationally.
