Jennie Fields is an American novelist born on July 25, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois. She was raised in Highland Park, Illinois. Fields earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois and a Master of Fine Arts from the Iowa Writers' Workshop. Before becoming a full-time writer, she had a successful career in advertising, working as a copywriter and creative director for various agencies. Her novels often draw inspiration from her family history and personal experiences, particularly her mother's work as a biochemist in the 1950s. Fields currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
