Stephen R. Turnbull

Stephen Richard Turnbull is a British historian and writer, specializing in military history, particularly of Japan and East Asia. He is widely recognized as a leading English-language authority on the samurai of Japan. Turnbull has authored over seventy books and has served as a historical consultant for films, television documentaries, and video games. He is also a lecturer in Far Eastern Religions at the University of Leeds and a visiting professor at Akita International University in Japan.
