Junji Ito
Junji Ito is a Japanese horror manga artist, born on July 31, 1963. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest living horror manga artists and one of the most influential horror creators of the past 50 years. Ito began drawing manga at a young age, inspired by his older sisters and horror manga artists like Kazuo Umezu. He worked as a dental technician until the early 1990s before becoming a full-time mangaka. His work is known for its intricate art, psychological themes, and body horror, often transforming ordinary anxieties into nightmares. Ito's manga have been adapted into films and anime series, and he has received numerous awards, including multiple Eisner Awards.
