Maureen Jennings

Maureen Jennings is a British-Canadian author born in Birmingham, England, who emigrated to Canada as a teenager. After a career as a psychotherapist, she became an award-winning crime novelist. She is best known for her "Detective Murdoch" series, which inspired the popular television show "Murdoch Mysteries." Her works often explore Canadian history, particularly Toronto's Victorian era. Jennings has also written other series, including the "Detective Inspector Tom Tyler" series and the "Paradise Café" series.
