Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle was a British writer and physician, best known for creating the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes. A prolific author, he also wrote historical novels, science fiction, poetry, and non-fiction works, including spiritualist treatises. He was knighted in 1902 for his service during the Boer War.
