Anthony Burgess
Anthony Burgess (born John Anthony Burgess Wilson) was an English novelist, critic, and composer, best known for his dystopian novel 'A Clockwork Orange'. He was a prolific author, producing numerous novels, essays, and works of criticism, exploring themes such as language, morality, and the human condition. His work often combined linguistic ingenuity and witty erudition with picaresque plots and sharp social satire. Burgess also composed over 250 musical works and considered himself as much a composer as an author. He received the Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres distinction of France and was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
