Alex Comfort

Alexander Comfort was a British physician, gerontologist, author, and activist, best known for his nonfiction sex manual, The Joy of Sex (1972). He was also a poet, novelist, political theorist, commentator, anarchist, and pacifist. Comfort's work explored diverse subjects including aging, sexual behavior, and anarchism. He taught and conducted research in both London and the United States, and was a significant figure in the anti-nuclear movement.
