Paul Auster
Paul Auster (1947–2024) was an American novelist, essayist, translator, screenwriter, and poet known for his complex novels that explore identity and personal meaning. He gained recognition for The New York Trilogy (1987), a series of experimental detective stories. Auster's fiction often explores the self, blurring the lines between autobiography and fiction. His works also include screenplays and films. He was a prolific writer, completing more than 30 books translated into dozens of languages.
