Katie Bernet

Katie Bernet is the author of "Beth Is Dead," a modern reimagining of "Little Women" as a young adult mystery/thriller. She is a New York Times and international bestselling author, and "Beth Is Dead" was the inaugural selection for Reese Witherspoon's Sunnie Reads Book Club. Bernet lives in Dallas, Texas, and is a diehard fan of "Little Women," inspired by her own experience as the oldest of three sisters. She previously worked in advertising as a strategist and copywriter, a career that helped her develop confidence and thick skin, which she now applies to her writing. She is a member of the DFW Writer's Workshop and directed the 2025 DFW Writer's Conference.
