Mel Sherratt

Mel Sherratt is a British author known for her crime fiction, psychological thrillers, and 'grit-lit' novels. She also writes women's fiction under the pen name Marcie Steele. Sherratt's work often features strong female characters and is frequently set in her hometown of Stoke-on-Trent. She began her writing career in the early 2000s and, after facing numerous rejections from traditional publishers, found success through self-publishing on Kindle in 2011. Her novels have since become bestsellers, with many reaching the top of the Amazon Kindle charts. Sherratt has been recognized as one of Stoke-on-Trent's most influential people and has been shortlisted for the Crime Writers' Association Dagger in the Library Award.
