Claude Cossette is a Canadian advertising executive, scholar, and author, born in Quebec City in 1937. He founded the Cossette Communication Group in 1964, which grew to become the largest communication organization in Quebec. Cossette resigned from the company in 1982 to pursue an academic career. He has held positions at Laval University, including Chairperson of the Graphic Communication Program and Full Professor of Social Marketing and Advertising. His work often critiques advertising and focuses on persuasive communication. He has authored numerous books, research papers, and articles on these subjects, as well as a novel. Cossette has received significant recognition for his contributions to the field, including Le Prix des Communications du Québec and The Gold Medal Award from the Association of Canadian Advertisers.
