Bill Lyons
Bill Lyons was a prolific American sports journalist, author, and columnist, best known for his work with The Philadelphia Inquirer. Over a career spanning more than three decades, he covered numerous major sporting events and earned significant accolades, including six Pulitzer Prize nominations, an Emmy Award for TV writing, and induction into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame and the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. In his later years, Lyons bravely chronicled his personal battle with Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease, sharing his experiences with honesty and humor. He passed away in November 2019 at the age of 81.
