Steven Van Zandt, also known as Little Steven or Miami Steve, is an American musician, actor, and activist. He is a founding member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, where he plays guitar and mandolin. Van Zandt has also had a successful solo career with his band Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul. He is known for his acting roles as Silvio Dante in "The Sopranos" and Frank Tagliano in "Lilyhammer." Beyond his musical and acting careers, Van Zandt is a dedicated educator, founding the Rock and Roll Forever Foundation and its TeachRock.org curriculum, which uses popular music to teach history and other subjects. He is also a prominent activist, notably for his work with Artists United Against Apartheid and the "Sun City" project.
