For 32 years, archaeologist Julius Gabriel investigated the Mayan calendar, a 2500-year-old enigma predicting the end of humanity. He believed ancient sites around the globe were pieces of a puzzle linked to the salvation of our species. When Julius dies before solving the prophecy, his son Mick Gabriel, a paranoid schizophrenic patient with a high IQ, becomes the only hope. In Miami, psychologist Dominique Vazquez is assigned to Mick, who tries to convince her of his father's apocalyptic theories so he can escape. As the Fall Equinox arrives in September 2012, a serpent's shadow appears on the Kukulcan Pyramid, a rare galactic alignment occurs, and a space transmission reaches Earth, signaling the beginning of the end.
