Kathy Lynn Emerson (also published as Kate Emerson and Kaitlyn Dunnett) is an American author best known for historical mysteries, including the Face Down (Susanna, Lady Appleton) series and the Diana Spaulding 1888 quartet. She has written fiction, nonfiction, and children’s books, and is the author of the Agatha Award–winning How to Write Killer Historical Mysteries. Semi-retired, she continues to revise and republish backlist titles and to self-publish selected works.
