Ken Bruen

Ken Bruen (3 January 1951 – 29 March 2025) was an Irish crime writer best known for the Jack Taylor series and numerous noir and hardboiled novels. He earned a Ph.D. in metaphysics from Trinity College Dublin, spent many years teaching English abroad, and published more than 50 works including The Guards, The Killing of the Tinkers, and London Boulevard. His work won multiple awards (Shamus, Barry, Macavity) and several of his novels were adapted for television and film.
