Robert Crais

Robert Crais (born June 20, 1953) is an American novelist and former television screenwriter best known for his Elvis Cole and Joe Pike detective series. Born in Independence, Louisiana, he began his career writing for TV (Hill Street Blues, Cagney & Lacey, Miami Vice) before publishing The Monkey's Raincoat (1987). He has won multiple mystery awards and was named Grand Master by the Mystery Writers of America in 2014. Crais lives and works in the Los Angeles area.
