Elizabeth George

Elizabeth George (born Susan Elizabeth George) is an American novelist best known for creating the Inspector Thomas Lynley detective series set in the United Kingdom. A former high-school teacher, she published her debut novel A Great Deliverance (1988), which won the Agatha and Anthony awards and launched a prolific career. Her Lynley novels and other works have been widely translated and adapted for television; she has also written short-story collections and books on writing. She has taught writing seminars and lives on Whidbey Island, Washington.
