Tana Elizabeth French (born May 10, 1973) is an Irish-American novelist and former stage actress best known for her Dublin Murder Squad series of psychological crime novels. Born in Burlington, Vermont, she lived in several countries as a child and settled in Dublin, where she trained in acting at Trinity College. Her debut novel In the Woods (2007) won multiple awards and established her as a leading writer of literary crime fiction; several of her books have been adapted for television.
