Steven Hall

Steven Hall (born 1975) is a British writer known for his debut novel The Raw Shark Texts (2007), which won the Borders Original Voices Award and the Somerset Maugham Award and was shortlisted for the Arthur C. Clarke Award. Hall's work spans novels, short fiction, screenwriting and video-game writing (he was lead writer on titles including Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V). He was named one of Granta's Best of Young British Novelists in 2013. His second novel, Maxwell's Demon, was published in 2021. Hall studied Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University and grew up in Glossop, Derbyshire.
