Justin Hill

Justin Hill (born 31 May 1971) is an English novelist and travel writer. Born in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island and raised in York, England, he spent several years working in China and Eritrea with Voluntary Service Overseas. His debut novel, The Drink and Dream Teahouse, won multiple awards and established his reputation for fiction informed by deep engagement with Chinese history and society. He is the author of the Conquest Trilogy (beginning with Shieldwall) and other novels and nonfiction works, and has held academic posts including teaching creative writing. His work has been translated into multiple languages.
