Lawrence Hill
Lawrence Hill (born January 24, 1957) is a Canadian novelist, essayist and memoirist. His work addresses themes of identity, belonging and social justice; notable books include The Book of Negroes, The Illegal and the memoir Black Berry, Sweet Juice. He has served on literary juries, founded the Aminata Fund for women and girls in Africa, and has received numerous honours including appointment to the Order of Canada.
