Shauna Singh Baldwin is a Canadian-American novelist of Indian descent, born in Montreal, Quebec, in 1962. She grew up in India and later pursued higher education in business and creative writing, earning an MBA from Marquette University and an MFA from the University of British Columbia. Baldwin has worked as an IT consultant, web designer, restaurateur, and radio producer. Her work often explores themes of cultural hybridity, identity, social justice, and the experiences of women across different generations and nations. She is known for her meticulously researched and beautifully written novels that delve into historical and social issues, often with a feminist perspective. Baldwin's writing has been translated into numerous languages, and she has received several prestigious awards for her contributions to literature. She currently resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
