Balli Kaur Jaswal is an award-winning Singaporean novelist known for her exploration of the Sikh diaspora, social hierarchies, and the experiences of marginalized women. Born in Singapore and raised in Japan, Russia, the Philippines, Australia, and the United States, her peripatetic upbringing informs her writing. She is the author of several acclaimed novels, including 'Inheritance', 'Sugarbread', and the international bestseller 'Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows', which was a Reese Witherspoon's Book Club pick. She has also taught creative writing at institutions such as Yale-NUS College and Nanyang Technological University.
