Frances Itani, C.M., is an award-winning Canadian novelist, short story writer, poet, and essayist. Born in Belleville, Ontario, she spent her early life in Quebec. Before becoming a full-time writer, she trained and worked as a nurse in Montreal, North Carolina, and other locations. She is known for her meticulously researched historical fiction, including the acclaimed novel 'Deafening', and has published numerous books across various genres.
