Hilary Mantel
Hilary Mantel (1952–2022) was an acclaimed British novelist and short-story writer, best known for her historical fiction exploring the Tudor period. Her breakthrough came with Wolf Hall (2009), the first in a trilogy about Thomas Cromwell, followed by Bring Up the Bodies (2012) and The Mirror & the Light (2020). Mantel won the Booker Prize twice and was celebrated for her meticulous research, psychological depth, and inventive narrative voice.
