Katie Hickman is an English novelist, historian, and travel writer. Born in 1960 into a diplomatic family, she spent much of her early life living abroad in Spain, Ireland, Singapore, and South America. She is the author of several acclaimed works, including travelogues, historical non-fiction, and historical fiction, such as the 'Aviary Gate' trilogy. Her work often explores the roles of women in various cultures and historical periods.
