E. J. Burford

Ephraim John Burford (1905–1997) was an English historian and writer known for his studies of London social history and bawdy literature. Trained as an optician, he later became an author of works such as The Orrible Synne, Queen of the Bawds, The Bishop's Brothels and the anthology Bawdy Verse. He fought against Franco in the Spanish Civil War.
