L. M. Elliott
L. M. Elliott (Laura Malone Elliott, born 1957) is an American author best known for historical and biographical novels for young readers and adults. A former magazine journalist and three-time National Magazine Award finalist, she has written more than a dozen novels including Under a War-Torn Sky, A Troubled Peace, Suspect Red, Walls, and Hamilton and Peggy! Her work often features coming-of-age protagonists set against historical backdrops. She lives in Fairfax County, Virginia, and is active in school and library programs.
