F. Scott Fitzgerald
Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald (1896–1940) was an American novelist and short-story writer widely regarded as one of the greatest American writers of the 20th century. He is best known for his novel The Great Gatsby (1925), a definitive depiction of the Jazz Age. Fitzgerald's work often explored themes of wealth, class, aspiration, and the American Dream. He produced several novels and numerous short stories, and his life and writing were closely associated with the cultural milieu of the 1920s. Financial and personal difficulties affected his later career, and he died in 1940; his reputation grew substantially posthumously.
