William Faulkner

William Faulkner (1897–1962) was an American novelist, short story writer, and Nobel laureate known for his complex narratives, innovative use of stream-of-consciousness, and vivid portrayals of the American South. His major works include The Sound and the Fury, As I Lay Dying, Light in August, and Absalom, Absalom!. Faulkner received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1949 and two Pulitzer Prizes for Fiction.
