Clare Chambers
Clare Chambers (born 1966) is a British novelist known for quietly observed, character-driven fiction. She studied English at Hertford College, Oxford, spent a year in New Zealand after graduating (where she wrote her first novel), and worked in publishing before concentrating on her own writing. Her novel Learning to Swim won the Romantic Novelists' Association Novel of the Year; Small Pleasures (2020) brought her wider mainstream attention and awards recognition. She lives in south-east London with her husband and has three children.
