Eknath Easwaran (December 17, 1910 – October 26, 1999) was an Indian-born spiritual teacher, author, translator and interpreter of Indian religious texts. A professor of English in India, he came to the United States on a Fulbright fellowship, founded the Blue Mountain Center of Meditation and Nilgiri Press, and wrote extensively on meditation and spiritual living, including commentaries on the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, and practical guides such as Meditation and The Bhagavad Gita for Daily Living.
