Melissa de la Cruz (born September 7, 1971) is a Filipina–American author best known for young-adult novels and series including Blue Bloods, Witches of East End, The Isle of the Lost and work in Disney's Descendants franchise. Born in Manila, she immigrated to the United States in 1985, studied English and Art History at Columbia University, and has written for magazines as well as numerous bestselling novels for teen and adult readers.
