Eric Chaline
Eric Chaline is a British author, journalist and academic researcher based in London. He has written widely on history, travel, religion, philosophy and the history of sport and fitness. His books include Traveller's Guide to the Ancient World: Ancient Greece (2008), The Temple of Perfection: A History of the Gym, and Strokes of Genius: A History of Swimming (winner of the Lord Aberdare Literary Prize). He has combined publishing with academic research and has a background in historical and cultural studies.
