Christian Gordon Cameron (born August 16, 1962) is a novelist and military historian best known for his historical fiction, including the Tyrant series and standalone historical novels. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he grew up in Rockport, Massachusetts, Iowa City, and Rochester, New York. He graduated from the University of Rochester with a degree in history, served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy (including service during the First Gulf War and deployments to Somalia), and became a full-time writer around 2000. He also writes fantasy under the pen name Miles Cameron and has co-written under the pseudonym Gordon Kent. He lives in Toronto, Ontario.
