Born in 1970 in Kent and raised in Hastings, East Sussex, he began his writing career in his twenties. He has sold over five million copies of his books, which have been translated into numerous languages. He is well-known for his solo novels, such as The Magpies and The Wasp Trap, as well as his co-authored works with Louise Voss.
