Leslie Helakoski

Leslie Helakoski is an American author and illustrator of children's picture books. Known for her humorous and wordplay-filled stories, she has published numerous titles, including the 'Big Chickens' series and 'Woolbur'. She has a background in advertising design and illustration, and has served as a regional advisor for the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) in Michigan. She frequently draws inspiration from her childhood in Louisiana and her experiences working in a Montessori-style preschool.
