Philip D. Whitting

Philip David Whitting (1903–1988) was a distinguished British historian, numismatist, and educator. He served as a History master at St. Paul's School in London for many years and was a lecturer in Byzantine Studies at the University of Birmingham. He was a renowned expert on Byzantine coins, and his extensive collection now forms a significant part of the Barber Institute of Fine Arts' numismatic collection.
