Daniel Clarence Quinn (1935–2018) was an American author, cultural critic, and publisher, best known for his 1992 novel Ishmael, which won the Turner Tomorrow Fellowship Award. His work often explored themes of environmentalism, human culture, and philosophy, frequently challenging conventional perspectives on civilization and nature through his concept of 'new tribalism'.
