Jeffrey Howard Archer, Baron Archer of Weston-super-Mare (born 15 April 1940) is an English bestselling novelist, short-story writer and former politician. He began his career in politics as a Conservative MP and later revived his fortunes as a writer after financial setbacks. Archer is known for commercial, plot-driven novels such as Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less; Kane and Abel; the Clifton Chronicles; and the William Warwick series. His books have sold hundreds of millions of copies and several have been adapted for television and stage.
