Georgette Heyer

Georgette Heyer was an English novelist and short-story writer, known for her Regency romance and detective fiction. Born in 1902, she began her writing career in 1921. Heyer's Regency romances are celebrated for their witty dialogue, social satire, and meticulous historical detail, effectively creating and defining the genre. She also wrote twelve detective novels, typically set in English country houses. Despite her success, Heyer was a very private person, rarely giving interviews or engaging in publicity. She died in 1974.
