Anna Elizabeth Dewdney (1965–2016) was an American author and illustrator of children's books, best known for her beloved, New York Times bestselling 'Llama Llama' series. A passionate advocate for children's literacy, she believed that reading aloud to children fostered empathy and connection. Before achieving literary success, she worked as a rural mail carrier and a teacher. She passed away in 2016 from brain cancer.
