Luke Rhinehart

George Powers Cockcroft (1932–2020), known by the pen name Luke Rhinehart, was an American novelist, screenwriter, and nonfiction writer. He is best known for his 1971 cult classic novel, The Dice Man, which explores the life of a psychiatrist who makes decisions based on the roll of a die. He held degrees from Cornell and Columbia University and taught courses in Zen and Western literature.
