James Hillman

James Hillman (1926–2011) was an American psychologist, Jungian analyst and the founder of archetypal psychology. A prolific author and lecturer, he served as Director of Studies at the C. G. Jung Institute in Zürich, taught at several universities, edited Spring Publications, and influenced post‑Jungian thought through books such as The Soul's Code and The Myth of Analysis. He argued for the primacy of imagination, myth and archetype in understanding the psyche.
