Christmas Humphreys

Travers Christmas Humphreys (15 February 1901 – 13 April 1983) was a British barrister, judge and leading early proponent of Buddhism in Britain. He founded the London Buddhist Society in 1924 and authored numerous books on Buddhist practice and history, including the widely distributed Buddhism: An Introduction and Guide. He served as a judge at the Old Bailey and remained active in public life and Buddhist publishing for much of the 20th century.
