Thích Nhất Hạnh
Thích Nhất Hạnh (born Nguyễn Xuân Bảo; 11 October 1926 – 22 January 2022) was a Vietnamese Thiền (Zen) Buddhist monk, peace activist, prolific author, poet, and teacher. He founded the Plum Village Tradition and was a principal figure in the development of engaged Buddhism and the spread of mindfulness practice in the West. Over his life he authored over 100 books of teachings, poetry, and reflections on mindfulness, compassion, and social engagement.
