Betty J. Eadie (born 1942) is an American author best known for Embraced by the Light (1992), a widely read first-person account of a near-death experience. Raised in Valentine, Nebraska and on the Rosebud Indian Reservation, Eadie trained and worked as a hypnotherapist before becoming an international speaker and bestselling author on life-after-death subjects. Her other books include The Awakening Heart and The Ripple Effect. She has traveled extensively giving talks and lectures about her experience and its spiritual lessons.
