Byron Katie (born Byron Kathleen Reid on December 6, 1942) is an American author and speaker best known for developing a method of self-inquiry called "The Work." After a personal breakthrough in the mid-1980s she began teaching The Work through workshops, books and programs; her best-known book is Loving What Is. She founded Byron Katie International and has taught The Work in a variety of settings including schools, prisons and corporations.
